Police are investigating after a knife was found in a primary school playground.
Text messages were sent out to parents last week about the incident on September 11 at Mead Primary School, Amersham Road, Harold Hill.
Headteacher Morgan Williams said: “The safety of our pupils is our highest priority. As soon as it was found we called the local police community support officer into school and notified the parents of the child involved.”
