A Hornchurch police team gave personal security advice to commuters last week.
Officers from Hacton Safer Neighbourhoods Team were at Hornchurch Underground Station last Wednesday and gave out purse chains, door wedge alarms and timers for people to make their homes safer at night.
Home and personal security advice was given as well as leaflets about Operation Bumblebee, a Met Police initiative to tackle burglaries. More events will be held in the run up to the Christmas period.
PCSO Alan Pick said: “This was a good chance to speak to a large number of residents passing through the station at peak time.
“We gave useful security advice and a number of security items to ensure that their homes and possessions will be as safe as possible.”
