CCTV footage shows the thieves using an electronic device to gain access to the car.

Two hooded thieves stole a £35,000 car in Collier Row in less than 90 seconds.

The car belonging to Daniel Poole, 40, and his wife Louise, 38, was stolen from their house in Lynwood Drive in Collier Row just after 2.30 yesterday (Tuesday, October 23) morning.

CCTV footage shows one of the thieves holding a device to the front door of their home, and another unlocking the car using a fob.

Daniel said that in one minute and 20 seconds the pair had gained access to the car and drove off.

The Ford Titanium X Kuga SUV is used by Daniel and his wife to help her get from A to B because she suffers from Multiple Scloerosis, and because the car is higher off the floor it is easier for her to get into.

Daniel said: “It’s mental how fast they got into the car and got away with it.

“Its scary that they were 10ft away from me my wife and my son (Harvey, 4) when we were all asleep.

“In a way it’s a good thing that they could get my keys without breaking into my house because it could have been so much worse.

“ But they were locked in a metal box so I just don’t have a clue how they’ve done it.

“We’ve been living here for six years and nothing like this has ever happened before, it’s just a bit of a shock.

“It’s just a bit of metal and it’s insured so worse things have happened but it’s just frightening that there was two blokes outside of my house at that time in the morning and they could have done anything.”

It wasn’t until later yesterday morning that Daniel noticed the car had gone and reported it to the police.
