Havering’s children can now send their wishes to Father Christmas via a green postbox in Romford Market Place.

The letter box, located near the Clock Tower end of the market under the Union flag, will be in the Market Place every market day until Christmas.

Providing children write their name and address clearly on the letter, they should receive a reply, thanks to Father Christmas’s friends at Havering Council.

Councillor Robert Benham, cabinet member for community empowerment, said: “I hope children across the borough will be posting their letters to Father Christmas in the Market Place and we will be delighted to help him ensure every child receives a reply.”

The market will be open on each Sunday now until Christmas, and every day from Friday December 13 up to and including Tuesday December 24 in addition to its usual trading days of Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
