A teenager from Harold Hill has been charged today with five offences after a van was stolen and driven 50 miles in the wrong direction on a motorway.
Ryan Nee, 19, of Harebell Way, was charged after a white transit van was taken from an address in Stock Road, Billericay, at around 1.40am yesterday.
The vehicle was then driven to Harlow where it joined the M11 travelling north on the southbound carriageway before taking the A14 to Godmanchester, Cambridgeshire, where it was stopped.
Nee has been charged with burglary, theft, taking a vehicle without consent, dangerous driving, and driving without insurance or a licence.
He was remanded in police custody and will appear at Basildon Magistrates’ Court today.
