Erith crack cocaine and heroin dealer stabbed man seven times near Dartford train station over drugs deal

A crack-cocaine and heroin dealer has been jailed more 12 years after stabbing a man seven times near Dartford train station.

Wilfred Saye, of Howbury Avenue in Erith, met his victim, a man in his 30s, after travelling to the town to sell drugs.

During the meeting in Station Approach, an argument broke out and at around 10.50pm, Saye stabbed the victim four times in the upper body and three times in the leg.

The 20-year-old then walked back to the station, leaving his victim with life-threatening injuries, bleeding in the street.

A commuter who had just got off the train from work found the victim, after he had managed to call 999.

The passer-by took over the phone call and performed first aid.

Two other men and a Kent Police officer also stopped at the scene to help, and within a minute of the call an ambulance had arrived.

The victim was rushed to hospital and wasn’t able to leave for another three days.

Forensic officers attended the crime scene and found a knife sheath close near the bottom of some stairs. DNA analysis provided a match for Saye, along with a plastic bag with his finger print on it.

CCTV also captured Saye arriving at the station at 10.46pm, 10 minutes before the victim made a 999 call. He is then captured on cameras leaving, at the same time the victim reported being injured.

Officers raided Saye’s house, where they found five knives, including a two-foot long machete and a hunting knife which fitted the abandoned sheath.

They also found trainers with the victim’s blood on, 86 wraps of heroin and 18 wraps of crack cocaine, along with scales and re-sealable bags.

Det Sgt Adam Marshall, from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate, said: ‘Saye has shown himself to be a violent offender with a dangerous lack of ability to control himself.

‘For all he knew, he had left the victim to die in the street. He showed little remorse for this and continued to live his normal life until he was arrested a month later.

‘I welcome the sentence that has been passed by the judge and hope it shows other violent offenders that we will not shy away from using all resources at our disposal to ensure they are brought to justice.

‘My officers and I would also like our gratitude to the members of the public who provided vital first aid to the man while he was injured in the street.’
