Eleven charged with weapons and drugs offences after Rainham raid

ELEVEN people are due to appear at Havering Magistrates’ Court today following a raid on a property in Rainham.

The Met Police’s Territorial Support Group executed a search warrant under the Police and Criminal Evidence Act at a commercial property in Launder’s Lane on Tuesday night.

All those arrested were charged with one count of production of cannabis and seven counts of firearms offences.

They were Cristian-Mircea Lingu, 39; Lionel Lazar, 22; Bogdon Onkioiu, 23; and Gherorghe Anton, 48, all Romanian nationals and all of Launder’s Lane.

Also charged were Rory Scott McEleavy, 41, of Ford Lane, Rainham; Lisa Shortall, 28, of South Road, Ockenden, Essex; John Joseph Reilly, 45, of Stepney Green Court, E1; Arben Bajranaj, 34, an Albanian national of Whittington Road, N22; Robert Paul Knight, 20, Smith Street, Rochester, Kent; Paul Robert Knight, 54, of Gorse Avenue, Chatham, Kent; and Michael Edward Hope, 50, of Cricketers Close, Hawkinge, Kent.
