A pensioner was left “very shaken and disturbed” after a dishevelled stranger shouted sexual comments at her in Rainham, last Tuesday morning (December 6).

The 66-year-old woman was walking home from a trip to the corner shop, in New Road, at around 10.30am, when the man apprached her from behind, placed an arm around her shoulder, and made the lewd remarks.

“The woman bravely pushed the man off and he left the scene walking in the direction of Cherry Tree Lane,” a police spokesman said.

“The attacker is described as overweight, with short grey hair, and a dishevelled appearance,” the spokesman added. “This incident has left this lady very shaken and disturbed and police are asking for witnesses - or anyone who may recognise the description to come forward.”
