Diabetes UK’s Brentwood Voluntary Group has donated 1,000 to help fund a research project at Imperial College London.
The donation is part of the charity’s Adopt a Project initiative – allowing voluntary groups to give money to a Diabetes UK-funded research project of their choice. The Brentwood group chose a project called Balancing Type 1 lows and Type 2 highs to research low blood glucose levels.
Louise Rout, of Diabetes UK, said: “We cannot thank them enough for all their hard work in raising such a fantastic sum of money.
“I know how hard all Diabetes UK volunteers in Brentwood work and they have come up with some brilliant fundraising events this year. It is great that they have chosen to give this money to an excellent research project.”
