Brooklands Safer Neighbourhoods Team recently conducted a week long operation to improve security and reduce theft related offences within Queen’s Hospital.
The officers worked in partnership with NHS staff and security teams to improve the visible security patrols and deter would-be thieves from entering the Rom Valey Way site.
Officers from this team will be robustly enforcing legislation under the Criminal Justice and Immigration Act 2008 which creates offences for people causing a nuisance or refusing the leave NHS premises.
Anyone who doesn’t comply can be arrested.
Pc Graham Servantes said: “Officers will now be permanently patrolling all wards of the hospital in high visibility uniform as well as plain clothes patrols and offenders will be dealt with swiftly.”
