Two men have been found guilty of criminal damage after spraying graffiti in the skate park at Brittons Park, Rainham.

Peter Morgan, 23, of Hastings Road, Southend-on-sea, pleaded guilty at Barkingside Magistrates Court.

He was sentenced to three months community service on tag and a curfew between 8pm-7am daily.

He was also ordered to pay £50 in costs and £60 victim surcharge.

Alex Dubinskas, 22, of Wroxall Road, Dagenham, was found guilty of criminal damage in his absence at Romford Magistrates Court.

A no bail warrant for his arrest has been issued after he failed to attend court twice for the hearing.

His sentence will be decided at a future hearing.

The offence took place during March last year.

Havering council Cabinet member for towns and communities, Cllr Andrew Curtin, said: “These two convictions show that Havering council, the police and Crown Prosecution Service will take firm action to deal with those caught vandalising our parks and open spaces.

“Information from the public and our CCTV system means those who cause such damage are now much more likely to be caught and prosecuted so we hope they get the message to keep their paint cans at home.”
