A man is sought by police in connection with a burglary at a charity shop.

On Sunday, July 3, police were called at around 4.15pm to a report of a burglary at the Saint Francis Hospice Shop, St Mary’s Lane, Upminster.

The burglary was committed between 6pm Saturday, July 2 and 4.15pm on July 3.

Around £300 worth of damage was done to the rear door and CCTV footage overlooking the door caught the suspect walk up to the premises, climb onto the bin outside and place an empty box over the camera lens.

He then broke into the shop and took an amount of money from the till.

The suspect is described as a clean shaven white man of medium build, aged in his 20s.

He was wearing a dark baseball cap with white writing on the top, grey hooded tracksuit top, black trousers and black and white trainers.

Police are keen to hear from anyone who may recognise the man shown in the footage.
