Two separate road rage incidents are being linked by police after a woman driver and another motorist came under attack from a car passenger on the A127, recently.
The woman victim, from Dagenham, was driving on the London-bound track and had just passed the junction with the A128, near Herongate, Brentwood, when a white vehicle and a blue vehicle stopped in front of her – bringing the traffic to a stand-still.
A passenger in the white vehicle then got out and kicked the front of the victim’s car, punched a window, and swore at her.
Police are appealing for information following the incident between 8.15pm and 8.30pm on Saturday, October 19.
The 29-year-old victim was left with some damage to the bonnet of her black Volkswagen Passat.
Police are connecting this to a similar incident which happened on the A127, at Dunton, at about 8.35pm the same day when a man stopped his car in the middle of the carriageway, and kicked a man’s car.
Investigating officer, Pc Emily Lurton, said: “These incidents would have been very frightening for the victims who were simply trying to make their way along the A127. It would have also caused other cars to stop, so I’m hoping someone may remember what happened and be able to provide me with information.”
Anyone with information is urged to contact Pc Lurton, or her colleagues at Basildon, on 101.
