Romford man and teenager charged after theft of Mercedes sports car

A man and a teenager from Romford have been charged following the theft of a Mercedes sports car in Brentwood.

An Essex Police spokesman said that the keys to a Grey A Class Mercedes were stolen from an address on Long Ridings Avenue, Brentwood overnight between Tuesday, January 23 and Wednesday, January 24.

Officers located the car in Mountnessing the following day and arrested a 21 year-old man and a 17-year-old boy on suspicion of burglary.

David Towse, 21, of Petersfield Avenue, Romford and a 17-year-old boy from Romford, who can’t be named for legal reasons, have been charged with burglary, theft of a motor vehicle and fraud.

They are both due to appear at Chelmsford Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, May 24.
