Police investigating the stabbing in outside Lidl in Romford town centre earlier today (Tuesday, November 20) have confirmed the victim is in a stable condition in hospital.

The 19-year-old was attacked in the supermarket’s car park in Atlanta Boulevard at around 1.15pm.

The London Ambulance Service was called and paramedics took him as a priority to hospital.

This evening, the Metropolitan Police have tweeted a statement reading: “The condition of the 19-year-old man stabbed this afternoon outside a supermarket in #Romford has been assessed as not life-threatening or life-changing.

“There has been no arrest at this early stage.

“Enquiries continue. Witnesses are urged to call police in #Havering via 101.”

Police officers closed Atlanta Boulevard for several hours while the crime scene was examined.

According to a bus driver who saw the incident, the victim was attacked by two other young men upon leaving the supermarket.
