Detectives want to speak to this man over a baseball bat robbery that left a 56-year-old with serious head injuries – and the theft of the CCTV footage the next day.

The initial break-in happened at the MOT centre in Mawney Road, Romford, at 6.20pm on October 30 when two suspects, one armed with a baseball bat, launched a terrifying attack.

The victim suffered serious head injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.

Nothing was stolen during the break in, but the next day the premises next door had was burgled and CCTV equipment stolen. It included footage of the suspects robbing the MOT centre the previous day.

Officers want to identify and speak with the man shown in the image who is wanted for questioning by police in connection with this investigation.

Det Con Tara Wilson, investigating said: “The victim of this pre-planned attack continues to receive treatment and is not yet fully recovered from his injuries and the effects of becoming a victim of violent crime.

“Assisting police in identifying this man could help remove a dangerous criminal from your area or may help eliminate someone from police enquiries.”

Anyone who knows the identity of this person should contact Detective Constable Tara Wilson of Havering CID by dialing 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
