Man injured in apparent acid attack on Collier Row high street

Police, paramedics and firefighters flocked to Collier Row’s high street this evening (Wednesday, August 15) after a man was injured in an apparent acid attack.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman confirmed officers were called by the London Ambulance Service (LAS) to reports of a noxious substance attack in Collier Row Road at around 6.45pm.
Police found one man at the scene injured. There are currently no concrete details on the nature of those injuries.
The LAS and London Fire Brigade (LFB) were also in attendance at the scene.
An LFB spokesman confirmed firefighters treated the injured man at the scene before handing duty of care over to LAS, who then took the victim to hospital.
An LAS spokesman said: ““We were called at 6.40pm today (15 August) to reports of an incident on Collier Row Road, Romford.
“We sent a single responder in a car, an ambulance crew and our hazardous area response team to the scene.
“We treated one person at the scene and took them to a hospital in East London.”
There have been no arrests.
