A Halloween prankster lay in a Rainham road pretending to be unconscious while police taped it off – before getting up and walking away.

Officers, along with ambulance crew, were called to a “crash” between a car and a pedestrian in Mungo Park Road at 1.26am yesterday and found a man lying on the floor.

The road was closed temporarily but it turned out he was pretending to be unconscious and he got up and walked off.

He denied he had been in a collision and then became abusive towards officers and paramedics. No arrests were made and the road was reopened.
