A BENT garage manager who was caught on camera cashing stolen company cheques worth more than £2,000 is facing jail.
Martin Lovelace, 35, of Priory Road, Harold Hill, abused his position as service manager at Peter James Motor Group in Dagenham, Essex.
But Lovelace was photographed by a special camera at the Cheque Station in nearby Romford when he cashed payments totalling £2,192 payable to himself on February 16 and 22 this year.
Lovelace was immediately sacked from the Rainham Road South-based garage.
He admitted fraud charges when he appeared for a short hearing at Snaresbrook Crown Court yesterday, Thursday November 11.
Judge Timothy King ordered reports and bailed Lovelace pending sentence on December 9.
But the judge warned: “All sentencing options will remain open to the court, including that of custody.”
Lovelace admitted two counts of fraud and two counts of possession of articles for use in fraud.
Two charges of theft were ordered to remain on his court file.
