A car crashed in Collier Row this afternoon (Friday, September 14) after being chased by police through the town.

At around 3.15 a car failed to stop for police officers in Collier Row Road, and was then chased through Collier Row onto Clockhouse Lane where it crashed.

Two men were detained at the scene, and enquiries continue to trace any other suspects who fled the scene.

Residents said that they saw a heavy police presence in the area this afternoon, including a helicopter hovering over the area.
