Families enjoyed a fun-filled bank holiday with something for everyone at a summer fete.

Those looking for an exciting day out got exactly what they were looking for, as hundreds went to the annual event held at James Oglethorpe School, Ashvale Gardens, Cranham.

Visitors could stroll through the stalls selling home-made cakes, books and jewellery and even be in with a chance of winning a prize in the raffle and tombola.

Entertainment was also provided by the Hornchurch Drum and Trumpet Corps, miniature train rides and an owl experience where you could get up close and personal with wildlife.

A classic car show was on display on the day as well, with a range of vehicles from different decades being shown.

Keith Nott, church warden at All Saint’s Church, The Chase, Cranham, which organised the event, said: “It was a good day, with a great turn-out of about 700 people and lots of entertainment for them to enjoy.”
