A crane struck a railway bridge near a Shenfield primary school yesterday.
The machine, which was being transported by a lorry, hit the side of the Alexander Lane structure as the vehicle approached it in the afternoon.
The site is near Long Rodings Primary School.
A Network Rail spokesman said they sent a member of staff to check for any structural damage to the bridge, but that there was none.
Trains were delayed for up to 30 minutes, with services back to normal at approximately 2.30pm.
