Volunteers, staff and members of the public came together on Friday evening for the Romford YMCA’s annual Sleep Easy event.

It raises awareness of homelessness, as well as money for the charity, by asking participants to sleep outside in boxes for a night.

The event, at the branch’s site in Rush Green Road, included activities such as a best box competition, judged by deputy mayor Cllr Barbara Matthews, and a campfire.
