The Victorian Christmas event in Collier Row.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas as residents were invited to enjoy a traditional Victorian event on Friday.

The Collier Row Community Group welcomed those from around the borough to the town centre where arts and craft stalls, live reindeer, a snow machine and Santa’s grotto were in place to bring some festive cheer.

Performers from Kings Academy of Arts and Fitness, based at Bower Park Academy, were also dressed up head-to-toe in old-fashioned costumes for the special event.

Chigwell Window Centre, Chase Cross Road, where Santa’s grotto was based, helped to bring the occasion to life as they made a £20,000 donation was made by to the community group, which has been split between organising the Collier Row Carnival, held earlier this year, and the Christmas event.
