The mayor of Havering Councillor Dilip Patel cut the ribbon to officially open the new Year 2 Block at Crownfield Infant School in White Hart Lane on Friday, September 14.

Headteacher Sharon Nacmias told the Recorder: “It was a lovely day and the children thoroughly enjoyed it.

“We’ve expanded our classrooms due to popularity and growing numbers. We have four new classrooms and a new hall.

“The icing on the cake was the mayor coming to the school to officially cut the ribbon and open the centre.”

Last year the school’s nursery doubled in size from 60 to 120 pupils.

“We continue to develop the school as a centre of excellence for training and education, and as a focal point for the local community,” said Ms Nacmias.
