Rabbits, guinea-pigs, and a pony from a Collier Row farm charity helped teach youngsters how to be kinder to our planet.
The animals, from Wellgate Community Farm, in Collier Row Road, were part of Green Day at Valence Library and Valence House, in Dagenham.
The event, last Tuesday, was held to show children the importance of being environmentally-friendly and how they can help make the world a greener place.
As well as meeting the farm animals, children had the chance to make jewellery and keyrings out of recycled materials and taste food made from vegetables grown in the Valence House grounds.
Valence Library team member, Michelle Walker, said: βIt was a great day and the kids had lots of fun meeting the animals and taking part in the craft sessions. Hopefully they learnt a bit about helping the environment along the way.β
