If you want your Christmas shopping to help make a difference on your doorstep, you can support a young Upminster mum battling terminal cancer by buying a charity calendar.

Staff and clients of Upminster beauty firm Aesthetics of Essex appear in the calendar, which will be on sale this month for £10.

The Recorder broke Lauren’s story in June. The mum-of-two is trying to raise as much cash as possible to pay for a course of Avastin, a £5,000-a-month drug she can’t get on the NHS that she believes could help prolong her life.

She decided on the drug after a private course on a 12-month health insurance plan shrank her tumours.

Aesthetics of Essex also held a sponsored walk for the Lauren’s Marvellous Medicine fund in the summer and raised £900 towards her total.

Visit the clinic in Howard Road to pick up a copy. You can call 01708 225555 to check availability.
