Residents in Brookside, Hornchurch, toasted Prince William and Princess Catherine with a glass of champagne before heading out to their street party.
Jo Stead, one of the organisers, said: “I thought Kate looked beautiful and she had a beautiful dress on. It was all very elegant.
“We had champagne and croissants while we watched it.”
Many of the houses in Brookside were decorated with flags and Bunting, and Jo’s dog Beau also celebrated by donning a Union Jack.
A special cake was made for the occasion, with the Union Jack on it and Will and Kate written in white icing.
