The cappella singers of Upminster are looking for new members.

The group of 20 singers perform three concerts a year and have been singing in the town for more than 40 years.

Ian Pirie chairman of the group said: “We are a friendly chamber choir and we would welcome new voices - especially bass or tenor.

“We are trying to balance out the choir.

“It’s great to make music with other people, and it’s different to just doing it by yourself.

“I think we’re a great part of the community, we have a lot of fun and have been going for such a long time.

“We rehearse on Thursday evenings, 7-9pm during school term times, at Trinity United Reformed Church in Station Road.”

Their next concert will be on Friday, December 14 at Trinity Church and will include an evening of choral music including Christmas motets and seasonal works by Vaughan Williams and John Rutter.

If you are interested in joining the group contact Ian or Jill on 01708 641718.
