A boy believed to be 16 is being treated after a crash between a bus and a car near Romford town centre.

Police, fire and ambulance crews have been joined by a helicopter at the scene in Brentwood Road near the junction with George Street after being called at about 4.20pm.

A police spokesman said the crash involved a bus and a car and a boy aged 16 was being treated for back pain.

A passer-by told the Recorder: “It looked horrible, there was someone being cut out of the car that had hit a wall. A minibus had also been hit but there didn’t seem to be anyone else. The car had had its roof cut off.”
