More than 200 Havering Girl Guides, Rainbows and Brownies took part in Christmas carols and were joined by a CBBC actor at the Mercury Shopping Centre in Romford to get in the festive spirit.

The girls from 1st Hornchurch Brownies aged from four to 10 years met in Santa’s igloo grotto, then moved to stairs to sing Christmas carols.

They were then joined by CBBC actor Billy Holland from Class Dismissed.

Spencer Hawken, centre manager said; “We had a lovely time, the girls really enjoyed it.

“It’s lovely to collaborate with Rainbows, Brownies and Girl Guides to celebrate and sing this Christmas.

“We have lots more festive activities taking place over the coming weeks in the centre, so far we’ve raised over £100 for Saint Francis Hospice and First Step charities through choir singing and this week are joined by St Mary’s Catholic Primary School and Hyland’s Primary School.”
