Harold Hill residents took to the streets to help tackle the problem of litter.
Members of the Briar Residents’ Action Group (BRAG), along with Cllr Denis O’Flynn (Labour, Heaton), council staff and McDonald’s employees, pitched up in the Briar Road estate to support the national “Love Where You Live” anti-litter campaign.
Volunteers donned high-vis jackets and collected 30 bags of litter.
Gerry Byrne of McDonald’s said: “I’d like to thank my staff, BRAG, the local residents, Cllr O’Flynn and the council streetcare team for their hard work and setting a good example of what can be achieved if people pull together. It’s vital we all do our bit to tackle the issue.”
