A teenager from Brentwood died after a car crash on Saturday morning.

Dale Carlier, 18, from Coram Green in Hutton, died after the car he was in left Western Road, Billericay, and hit a wall then overturned.

Police said the driver of a black Ford Fiesta he was in appeared to have lost control of the car just before 2am.

Dale was taken to Basildon University Hospital, but died shortly afterwards.

Three other passengers in the car were also taken to hospital.

A 20-year-old man from Brentwood had head and arm injuries, a man, 20, from Romford, had arm injuries, and a 17-year-old, from Brentwood, and pelvic and facial injuries. All are in a stable condition in hospital.

Police said they have not yet established who the driver of the car was.

A section of the road was closed for four hours while forensic collision investigators were at the scene.
