A boy was taken to hospital after he was hit by a car in Doddinghurst this morning (Tuesday, May 15).

The teenager was riding a cycle in Park Meadow just after 6am when the collision happened. Paramedics from the East of England Ambulance Service and Essex Police attended.

Ambulance service spokesman Gary Sanderson said: “The boy, who we believe to be 14-years-old, was taken to Queen’s Hospital for further care.”

Police said the boy had minor cuts and bruises. Officers are not investigating the incident.
