Brentwood County High School raised 270 for Macmillan Cancer Support through a coffee morning last week.

The Year 10 pupils sold cakes to other pupils and the staff and had a surprise visit from Eric Pickles MP for Brentwood and Ongar, who visited one of their stalls.

Stephen Drew, headteacher of the school, said: “The work of the Macmillan Cancer Support charity impacts positively on the lives of so many members of the Brentwood County High School community every day.

“To be able to raise funds for Macmillan whilst also raising the profile of the group in the minds of our young people is something we are proud to be able to do.”
