A Brentwood man has been arrested on suspicion of rape in Chelmsford.
The 21-year-old man was arrested after he attended Brentwood police station yesterday (Sunday, May 20).
The alleged rape is believed to have happened between 2am and 3am in Wood Street, Chelmsford, near to the entrance of the former St John’s Hospital site, on Saturday, May 19.
The man is currently in custody.
