The driver of a black Saab which crashed into another car on the A128 last Monday morning died on Friday evening.

The 79-year-old man from the Brentwood area was taken to Queen’s Hospital, Romford, after his car collided with a stationary silver Citroen opposite Viking Way, at 8.50am on April 4.

He was taken to hospital with chest injuries, but the cause of his death has not yet been established.

Police are appealing for anyone who saw the crash or who saw the Saab immediately before it to contact them at the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 0300 333 4444.
