A Brentwood school girl has been awarded a prestigious scholarship which will see her mentored by Bonnie Langford.
Grace Sees, 18, will have one-to-one tuition with the actress and dancer and is hoping will help her with her career in musical theatre.
Grace will join the Performance Preparation Academy in Guildford in September on a three-year diploma course in musical theatre.
Three boys and three girls were given the chance to audition in front of Bonnie for the Bonnie Langford Scholarship and Grace said she felt “so lucky” to have been awarded it.
As well as acting as a mentor, Bonnie will personally introduce Grace to casting directors, agents, producers and others in musical theatre.
Grace had to shine in ballet, jazz, singing and acting as well as pass an interview stage. She said: “Miss Langford was really friendly. She will show a personal interest in my progress.”
Bonnie Langford first came to public attention when, aged six, she won the talent show Opportunity Knocks. She has since made numerous television appearances and has enjoyed leading stage roles in various musicals.
Brentwood School’s director of music, David Pickthall, said: “This is a remarkable and exciting opportunity for Grace who has for many years been one of our leading musicians and dancers.
“Coming as it does in the year Grace took the name part in our production of Calamity Jane, it is a fitting tribute to her skills and enthusiasm in all things musical.”
