Brentwood fundraisers in the pink

A BRA-wearing man, a group of hairdressers and a horse called Foxy Lady were some of the colourful characters who donned a splash of pink for breast cancer at the weekend.

More than 500 people joined the annual Thorndon Stride, an 8km charity walk around the beautiful country park in Brentwood.

Although the cash is not yet counted, organiser Jeanne Ward-Bevan, says in the last two years alone the event has raised more than 43,000 for Cancer Research UK.

The 57-year-old former recruitment consultant said: “It was fantastic, Darren with his big bra was great, very funny on the mic. David Blondin, who is a cancer survivor and organises the route, was amazing again.

“And Foxy the pony was an absolute superstar. She stood still and had people getting on and off her back for such a long time.”
