A couple are thanking their lucky stars after they cashed in on a cool £600,000 lottery win last week.
Byron Crawford and Sonia Cunningham, of Myrtle Road, Brentwood, are two of 70 people who whose numbers came up in this year’s Postcode Lottery in Brentwood.
Byron netted £200,000 with one ticket and Sonia received double the amount when two of her tickets won her a total of £400,000.
The couple, who have been together for 10 years and engaged for six, are preparing to finally have the wedding of their dreams.
Mental health rehabilitation worker Byron said: “It’s dizzying to think how much we’ve won.
“Everyone looks after one another on our street and they’ll be just as pleased as we are with the win.”
Along with a wedding, on their wish list is a new house. However, the couple are adamant that they want to continue living in the same street, saying they credit their “lucky road” for their success in the lottery.
Advertising professional Sonia said: “I must phone and thank my mum.
“She signed my sister and I up to People’s Postcode Lottery for my birthday last year.
“It’s the best present I have ever received.”
A total of £2million was dished out to the winners in Brentwood at an event that was held in King George’s Playing Field in Hartswood Road, Brentwood, with Byron and Sonia receiving this year’s biggest prize totals.
“We would really like to take our daughter to DisneyLand Paris,” said Byron.
“I’ve also always wanted to start my own business and winning this money means those pipe dreams can become a reality.”
