Community groups from across Brentwood have been awarded funds of 60,000 in total.
Brentwood Council awarded 25 local organisations, including IT for under 5s and the group that run the sensory garden, funds from the council’s Brentwood Localism Share Fund.
Mayor of Brentwood Cllr Ann Coe said: “It was great to meet many of the faces behind the successful bids for this money and to hear from them more about all their projects that will add so much to the quality of life in our area.”
One of those projects is the Disability Inclusion Service (DIS) who will be using their 4,800 share fund grant to teach art-based life skills to those with learning disabilities.
Robert Fillary, from the DIS, said: “We’re so excited to move our work to the Brentwood communities. Our aim is to build an inclusive community through our various creative-led projects.”
