Boy who stabbed 14-year-old in Romford brawl pleads guilty

A 14-year-old boy from south London has admitted “unlawfully and maliciously” stabbing a fellow teenager during a brutal assault in Romford, a court has heard.
The teenager, who cannot be named due to his age, was just 13 when he wounded a 14-year-old boy on February 23.
Officers were called in the evening to Exchange Street, Romford where they found the victim suffering from stab wounds.
The boy, from south London, admitted one count of wounding with intent at Snaresbrook Crown Court today (Monday, August 20).
He sat in the dock wearing jeans and a navy sweatshirt, while barristers appeared without their formal gowns and wigs.

He also pleaded guilty to two counts of possessing a knife and one of possessing a quantity of cannabis.
Judge John Lafferty adjourned the case until September 17 for a report to be compiled by the youth offending team.

The boy was remanded in youth detention ahead of sentencing.
