A teenager has been arrested after jewellery, electronics and a car were stolen from a house on Monday.
Police stopped and arrested the 17-year-old later the same day after he was spotted driving the stolen Mercedes in central London’s Blackwall tunnel. The car had been identified using automatic number plate recognition.
As well as the car, an Apple iPad, an Apple MacBook, an Xbox and some jewellery were taken from the house in Bridge Avenue, Upminster. The items were taken, along with the car keys, after a rear patio window was smashed with a brick.
