Archant

The Bem family spent the day partying on their own doorstep – and loving it.

Asha and Biju, and their children Nidhi and Tata, live just behind the marquee – but still braved the rain to greet their neighbours and join in the festivities for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee at New Zealand Way, Rainham.

“It’s really good,” said Mrs Bem. “and the kids have loved it. There’s a sense of community.”
