With anticipation building for Disney’s live-action Beauty and the Beast, Queen’s Theatre has announced the tale as its latest pantomime.

The venue, in Billet Lane, Hornchurch, will stage its version from November 30 to January 7 and early bird tickets are now on sale for the eager.

The classic tale, immortalised in film with the 1991 animation, tells of bookish Belle’s capture by the Beast, and her growing realisation that he is not all he seems, while danger looms in the shape of ladies’ man Gaston.

Until April 15, panto fans will be able to take advantage of a 10 per cent reduction on ticket prices, which range from £12.50 to £29.

Alongside the regular shows will be a relaxed performance, on January 2, and a dementia-friendly performance, on January 3.

The new Beauty and the Beast film is out on March 17, starring Emma Watson, Dan Stevens and Luke Evans.
