A BBC One presenter and a team from a bank visited pupils to deliver a workshop aimed at promoting better financial awareness.

Angelica Bell, of The One Show, visited The Albany School, Broadstone Road, Hornchurch, with the Nat West Money Sense team.

Pupils had to solve problems, evaluate four different types of mobile phone plans and assess the advantages and disadvantages of each.

Year 9 pupil Oliver Gilbey, 13, said: “It was really nice to put into practice some of the things we had been learning in lessons. The whole day was really enjoyable.”

Assistant head teacher, Gary Wimbush added: “The students really enjoyed the day and welcome another opportunity to work with the money sense team.”
