For bleary-eyed commuters forced to cram themselves into any available space, it will come as no surprise that the morning train from Gidea Park to London Liverpool Street is one of the most overcrowded in the country.
The National Express East Anglia Service train, which runs through Romford, has been named the seventh most overcrowded in London and the South-East of England.
Departing from Gidea Park at 7.49am and arriving in Liverpool Street at 8.22am, the eight-carriage train is usually at 148 per-cent capacity.
The Department of Transport figures from spring to autumn 2010, found that the morning service was usually 419 passengers in excess of its 864 capacity.
