A man has been charged following a fire which left a cat needing oxygen therapy after breathing in smoke.
Stephen Finch, 52, of The Street, Croxton, Norfolk, appeared before Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on Monday charged with arson with intent after the blaze in Great Fox Meadow, Kelvedon Hatch, last Friday.
Mr Finch was also charged with arson with intent following a blaze at the Inner Space shop in Chelmsford on December 26 last year, as well as two counts of religiously aggravated criminal damage and two counts of criminal damage.
He was remanded in custody to appear at Chelmsford Crown Court on March 30.
