A "traditional" pub in Brentwood has been taken over by a 23-year-old man who "can't wait for what's next" at the boozer.
The Spread Eagle in Queens Road, Brentwood, was previously advertised on FindMyPub.com and Punch Pubs as part of a management partnership model with Punch Pubs & Co.
The model differs from traditional tenancies or leases, with Punch Pubs & Co retaining ownership of the building, stock, and brand.
According to the listing seen in July, instead of paying rent the operator would pay a £3,000 deposit and £2,000 in working capital.
They then receive a percentage of the pub’s gross turnover, from which they cover staff wages and minor day-to-day costs.
Thomas Anderson, 23, has now been confirmed as the new operator.
In posts shared on The Spread Eagle’s Facebook and Instagram pages, he said: "Hi all, I'm Thomas.
"I’m 23, and I’ve just got the keys.
"I’m looking forward to bringing back everything The Spread Eagle has to offer: great food, great drinks and, not to mention, fantastic entertainment.
"There’s little I haven’t done when it comes to pubs, so trust the process.
"Keep an eye on our socials – I can’t wait for what’s next."
The FindMyPub.com listing described this as a "rare opportunity" to take on a "beautifully invested traditional pub".
It said: "The Spread Eagle is a traditional-looking pub offering an exciting world of craft beers, fruity cocktails, and spirits to liven any occasion.
"Hidden in the middle of Brentwood, this traditional pub has a quirky, opulent interior and eccentric décor, making it the perfect place to gather for a midweek drink at the bar or get the whole gang together to celebrate the weekend with signature cocktails and an indulgent feast in the courtyard."
The listing is no longer available to view online.
