A Brentwood animal sanctuary has been left “blown away” after receiving an extraordinary donation to help feed its rescued animals.
Hopefield Animal Sanctuary and Visitor Centre had issued what it described as a “desperate plea” for hay during the summer.
The sanctuary has now revealed that its appeal was answered in spectacular fashion, with 990 bales of haylage bought for the animals.
The person behind the huge donation was TV personality Stacey Solomon, who is an ambassador for Hopefield.
According to the sanctuary, Stacey stepped in after seeing its plea and purchased 990 bales of BedSoft & HaySoft haylage.
Hopefield said the donation would help ensure its rescued animals remain fed and cared for, while taking some of the pressure off the team responsible for looking after them.

In a heartfelt message, the sanctuary said: “We’re honestly blown away by Stacey’s generosity.
“Keeping our rescued animals fed and cared for is a huge responsibility, and support like this brings such an enormous sense of relief to our team.
“Those bales mean full tummies, essential nourishment and one less worry as we work to give our animals the happy, comfortable lives they deserve.”
The sanctuary went on to thank Stacey for responding to its appeal and said her support had made a “real difference”.
It added: “Stacey, thank you for hearing our plea, for caring so deeply about our animals and for helping in such an incredible way.
“Your kindness has made a real difference here at Hopefield, and we hope you know just how much it means to everyone at the sanctuary.
“We feel so lucky to have you as part of the Hopefield family. From our whole team, and on behalf of the animals who can’t say it themselves, THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts.”
